"Now five years old and with as many appearances in The World’s 50 Best Bars, Attaboy is no longer the bar that replaced the iconic Milk & Honey – the most important bar of the cocktail renaissance – but among the pantheon of greats itself. Through owners Sam Ross and Michael McIlroy, formerly of Milk & Honey, there are elements to this space that never changed at all. Not least in the attention to detail of every aspect of service, something passed down from Sasha Petraske. But Attaboy blends this meticulousness with an easy vibe – no rules and also no menu. Once you’re in (half a decade on this bar is still as busy as any in the city) and seated, a bartender will ask you about your cocktail preferences and come back with a perfect bespoke drink or the classic that best suits your mood. You might challenge the bartenders with an obscure order, but there’s no getting one over on this well-versed team – their repertoire is extensive."
